Dell Announces The Venue 10 7000 Tablet Equipped With Optional Magnetic Keyboard And Premium Design

Back in January at CES in Las Vegas, Dell unveiled their latest tablet in the form of the Venue 8 7000. As the name suggests this was an 8-inch tablet and came with a QHD display. Well, following on from the Venue 8 7000, Dell has today announced their follow-up tablet in the form of the larger, Dell Venue 10 7000. Again, as the name suggests, the main difference here is that this one comes with a 10-inch display (10.5-inch). Although the size difference is the obvious difference, it is not the only difference.

In terms of the specs, the Dell Venue 10 7000 comes with a 10.5-inch OLED touch screen display, with a 2560 x 1600 resolution. Inside, the Venue 10 7000 comes equipped with 2GB RAM, powered by an Intel Atom (Z3580) quad-core processor (clocking at 2.3GHz) and speakers which come equipped with MaxxAudio Waves tuning. In terms of cameras, the Venue 10 7000 come equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera, which also makes use of the Intel RealSense snapshot depth technology. Not to mention, the software also comes with the Dell Gallery, which offers the ability to find photos using facial recognition. Not forgetting, a 2GB front facing option is also included. In terms of memory, the device comes equipped with 16GB internal storage (a 32GB version will also be available in the U.S. and Canada) and MicroSD card support up to 512GB. Size-wise, the Venue 10 7000 is 9.58 inches in length, 7.69 inches in width and 0.24 inches in height. In addition, the tablet comes equipped with a 7,000mAh battery and running on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box.

However, the software is only half of the story and the Dell Venue 10 7000 comes equipped with some rather decent hardware too. Similar to the Lenovo Yoga tablets, this one comes with a cylinder running down the bottom of the device. This is what houses the 7,000mAh battery, as well as the dual MaxxAudio Waves tuned speakers. Another big selling point for the Venue 10 7000 will be that this is essentially, a 2-in-1 type tablet due to the ability to attach a magnetic keyboard to the bottom cylinder. This will make the tablet a far more viable option for the business-minded customer due to the inclusion of Android 5.0 and compatibility with Android for Work. However, such hardware does not come cheap and the price listed for the Venue 10 7000 comes in at $499 for the tablet alone. If you are interesting in the keyboard as well, then the price for both increases to $629. In terms of when, the press release details the Venue 10 7000 will be available in the U.S., Canada and China from next month.
