March 1st was a big day in the android world with a number of announcements coming down the wire at this year’s MWC. One of those which was high-up on the day’s agenda and attracted its fair share of headlines was the latest flagship device from HTC, the HTC One M9. This was the latest device in the popular One series and had been highly speculated upon prior to its unveiling. Well, following that unveiling, all of the major carriers in the U.S. (and elsewhere) began announcing their intention to stock, carry and make available the One M9. One of those carriers was Verizon and if you have been waiting on launch date, then today is that day. Verizon have now announced that the HTC One M9 is now available in store and online.

For those still unsure about the One M9 then here is a brief recap on the specs on offer. The HTC One M9 comes equipped with a 5-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Inside, the One M9 comes equipped with 3GB RAM and powered by the latest Qualcomm processor, the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor. In terms of cameras, the One M9 comes loaded with a 20-megapixel rear camera coupled with a more modest 4-megapixel Ultra Pixel front facing camera. In terms of memory, the One M9 comes equipped with 32GB of internal storage as well as the option to expand the memory on offer with the inclusion of a microSD card slot (up to 128GB). Additionally, the One M9 comes powered by a 2,840mAh battery and comes pre-installed with Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with HTC’s Sense 7 UI on top

In terms of Verizon options, the One M9 is available in both the Gold on Silver and Metal Gray colors. On a standard two-year contract, the device will set customers back a down payment of $199.99. Its also worth pointing out, Verizon are offering a couple of limited time deals. These include the ability to trade in your old smartphone and get a (minimum) trade-in value of $100. The trade-in value is greater if you trade in either of the previous HTC One models, with $150 offered for the One M7 and $200 offered for the One M8. However, you only have until May 17th to take advantage of the trade-in value which is returned in the way of a Verizon gift card.
