Huawei Honor 7 Back Panel Surfaces; Fingerprint Scanner And Metal Build In Tow

Huawei Honor 7 backplate leak_1

Huawei is one of China’s biggest smartphone manufacturers. This company has announced a number of great smartphones last year, and they’ve also unveiled their new flagship line quite recently. The company has announced the Huawei P8, P8 Lite and P8Max devices in London a couple of days ago. Huawei is doing a really solid job both designing their smartphones and marketing them. Huawei’s Ascend Mate 7 phablet received a ton of praise last year, and the company still has to release a number of devices this year as well. Mate 7’s successor is in the cards, and same can be said about the Honor 6 and Honor 6 Plus follow-ups.

Speaking of which, the alleged Honor 7 and Honor 7 Plus devices leaked a couple of days ago, and we have some new content to share with you. Three new images surfaced online showing off Honor 7’s backplate. These images actually go hand-in-hand with the leak from the other day. This backplate has three cutouts on the back, it’s rather obvious what are they for. The biggest one is the camera, next to it is where the LED flash will be positioned and a fingerprint scanner will be located below the camera sensor (similar to Mate 7’s arrangement). This housing also hints that the Honor 7 will be made out of metal, which was to be expected considering Huawei’s new design philosophy.

This handset probably won’t arrive in the first half of this year considering its predecessor was announced back in June 2014. That being said, we have plenty of time to figure out its specifications. The Honor 6 sported a 5-inch display, its successor might feature a slightly bigger display than that, but it will probably retain the 1080p (1920 x 1080) display. This handset will probably be powered by Huawei’s very own HiSilicion 930 or 935 octa-core processor and will arrive sporting 3GB of RAM and multiple storage variants. 4G LTE connectivity and dual-SIM connectivity will also be a part of this package and we can probably also expect a bump as far as camera sensors go. The Honor 6 sported a 13-megapixel snapper on the back, so the Honor 7 will quite probably arrive featuring a 16-megapixel sensor, unless Huawei decided to stick with a 13-megapixel unit of course.
