Lenovo has announced a bunch of new devices during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona last month. The Lenovo Vibe Shot definitely got the most press coverage and was probably the most exciting device out of the bunch, but Lenovo has showcased quite a few really solid devices. One of those devices was the Lenovo A7000, a mid-ranger offering by this Chinese smartphone manufacturer. It was just a matter of time before the company actually offers this handset in India, and that has just happened.

The Lenovo A7000 comes sporting a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which is expandable via microSD card. This handset is powered by MediaTek’s MT6752M octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and a 16-core Mali-T760 GPU for graphics rendering. The 8-megapixel camera is located on the back of this device and flanked by an LED flash, while you’ll find a 5-megapixel snapper on the front side of this device. The 2,900mAh battery will ship with this device along with Android 5.0 Lollipop with Lenovo’s skin on top of Google’s OS. Dolby Atmos stereo audio is also a part of this package, and the device also comes with 4G LTE connectivity, which was to be expected. The Lenovo A7000 measures 152.6x 76.2 x 7.9mm and weighs 140 grams, and keep in mind that you also get a dual-SIM (two micro SIM cards) option here.

“At Lenovo we are committed to providing cutting edge technology to our consumers. The A7000 brings in flagship worthy features and performance at an incredible price making it a perfect choice for consumers looking for a trendy and powerful phone loaded with future-proof features,” said Sudhin Mathur, Director of Smartphones at Lenovo India. On the other hand, Amitesh Jha, Vice President of Retail at Flipkart said the following: “The Lenovo A series has been very well received by our customers since its launch in January this year. We are happy to partner with Lenovo again to launch Lenovo A7000 – the latest addition to this series. Dedicated towards providing world class products at great value to our consumers, we are positive that this new-age smartphone will cater to every customer’s requirement.”

There you have it folks. Those of you who live in India and are interested in Lenovo’s newest mid-ranger, you’ll be able to get one in about a week. The device will go on sale starting from April 15th, and will be available exclusively via Flipkart. The Lenovo A7000 will be available in Onyx Black and Pearl White colors, and if you’re interested in purchasing one, you’ll have to splash out Rs. 8,999 ($144).
