Over the weekend, we saw a massive leak of the LG G4. Including over 30 images of the upcoming flagship – which LG is going to be showcasing on April 28th in New York City. Today, LG decided to post an image of the device on their Facebook page. It’s basically a lady holding the LG G4 below her chin. And guess what? It looks just like the one that was leaked over the weekend. Big surprise there. LG stated on Facebook:
“Always have authentic luxury in hand. The brand new LG G4 with vegetable-tanned leather cover. See the great, feel the great.”
So, the leather is vegetable-tanned? Okay then. It looks pretty thin, and it kinda looks like the back is still slightly curved like the LG G3, and Moto X are. Which means it’ll fit in your hand better than a flat device like the Samsung Galaxy S6. It also looks like the power button on the back has been slightly redesigned from the LG G Flex 2. Although it is hard to tell from that angle in the picture. So we’ll have to wait a couple more weeks to see for sure.
Looks like leather is the next big thing these days. Samsung did faux leather on the Galaxy Note 3 back in 2013, followed by Motorola using real horween leather last year and now LG using it on the LG G4. I’m not too sure about that seam down the center of the back of the device, but we’ll see how it looks in person come April 28th when we are live from LG’s G4 launch event in New York City. LG is hosting launch events simultaneously in 7 cities on April 28th and 29th. We’ll have all the details for you as it happens!
Most likely, the LG G4 will be available on all four US carriers, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. We’ve heard a few different spec sheets for the LG G4 as well. LG has said that the G4 won’t be their only flagship this year, so it’ll be interesting to see what else they announce later on this year.
