Reality Star Khloe Kardashian Reportedly About To Launch A New Messaging App

Mobile messaging apps have already become a high stakes game, something that was very evident last year itself, when Facebook acquired WhatsApp for $19 billion. Hike, Viber, WeChat, Line, Telegram and indeed WhatsApp are amongst a whole host of such apps slugging it out to establish preeminence in the market. Now recent reports indicate that Google, Yahoo, Facebook are all gearing up to join the fight with their own apps that they hope would one day, be the dominant one in an already crowded, ultra-competitive market. It is in this scenario, that a Reality TV star and a Cornell University graduate are joining forces to bring yet another new group messaging app called Regroupd, ostensibly, to make it easier for social animals to manage their busy social lives, according to a report published early on Thursday.

The app, named Regroupd, is the brainchild of a Cornell grad named Lindsey Cummins, who says, that she came up with the idea behind this app right after her graduation. Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian is one of the members on the team as well and has reportedly been involved from “an early stage” in the app’s development, according to Miss Cummins. She however, was not forthcoming as to how she and Miss Kardashian first came across each other. The app, she says, will make group messaging more interactive and will feature integrated decision-making tools designed to make it easier to quickly get feedback from your friends without having to scroll through a whole bunch of messages, just to get an answer. She says that the inspiration behind the app was her “frustration in making decisions with large groups of friends via messaging” what with all the chatter going on all around making it well nigh impossible for her to get all the relevant information in one place without having to open a whole host of different apps. And that is exactly where she hopes Regroupd will come in handy.

Cummins says her team has been working on Regroupd out of their New York City office for “about a year.” She says that “the vision is to create something where you could still chat with people like normal, but you could still have all these added features that would make your life easier. It’s something that will basically reinvent messaging for everybody.” Khloe Kardashian has already posted about the app on Instagram, and has received over 770,000 likes and over 5,000 comments. Regroupd, when it does launch, will do so for iPhone first, with the Android version to follow soon after.
