The Alleged LG G4 Shows Its Face Yet Again, New Render Surfaced

Both HTC and Samsung have announced their flagship handsets for 2015. The two companies have showcased their offerings during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona last month. It’s LG’s turn now, the company will unveil the LG G4 on April 29th, this Korea-based smartphone OEM has already teased the event. That being said, we’ve already seen quite a few leaks showing the alleged G4 handset, and the company has announced the Android Lollipop-based LG UX 4.0 yesterday, a UI which will come pre-installed on their newest flagship.

Anyhow, a new image leaked on Twitter, showing off the alleged LG G4. This leaked render actually goes hand-in-hand with some previously leaked renders. I don’t know if you recall this, but back in March, a set of the alleged LG G4 renders surfaced showing off the device. This device actually seems identical to those renders, even the sensors are in the same place. Unfortunately we don’t get to see its back or sides this time around, but judging by the previously leaked images, the device will be slightly curved. The curve won’t be that noticeable though, certainly not as much as on the LG G Flex 2. You can also see LG’s UX 4.0 in action this time around, well, the homescreen at the very leaks. This is the newly announced LG UI which is based on Android Lollipop.

That being said, the LG G4 will reportedly feature a 5.5-inch QuadHD (2560 x 1440) display along with 3 or 4GB of RAM and it will arrive in multiple storage (32, 64 and 128GB) variants. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chip will power on this device, but we still don’t know which one. At first, the rumors were saying that the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core SoC will ship with the device, and quite recently reports have said that LG will opt for the Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core chip. Why? Well, the Snapdragon 810 actually managed to get a lot of bad press in the last couple of months, several reports have emerged claiming that the chip is heating more than it should. 16 or 20-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this device, OIS will be a part of the package as well as LG’s Laser Autofocus. Android 5.0 Lollipop will come pre-installed here and LG’s aforementioned UX 4.0 skin will be installed on top of Google’s OS.
